Indian Blanket
Bluebonnets and coneflowers add colour to the Texas countryside. Indian Blanket is a short-lived perennial or annual flowering plant native to the central United States. It blooms practically year-round in some areas, but more typically in summer to
early fall. It is a hardy plant, not picky about soil, though sandy and well-drained are
best. It has a high drought tolerance and does best with a dry, hot climate in
full sun.
Beautiful stamps.

Hurricane Ike Tree Sculptures
On September 13, 2008, Hurricane Ike roared ashore on Galveston Island bringing a massive saltwater storm surge that killed thousands of trees, including many of Galveston's stately 100-year-old oaks that had been planted after the Great Hurricane of 1900. Many of the trees have been carved into whimsical sculptures. Clockwise from left: Angel by Jim Phillips, Birds by Dayle Lewis, 2 Herons by Dayle Lewis, Frog by Dayle Lewis, Dalmation and Fire Plug by Jim Phillips.
Nice stamps.
